Mike Gammill
The aperture of the C35V (and C35) has four blades and a unique diamond shape. Possibly other programmed viewfinder and rangefinder compacts may have had a similar aperture. I know the Minolta Hi-Matic G uses that arrangement. I find that the lens is best at around f11. Stopped down slightly, say f4 to f5.6 the shape of the aperture affects quality. Wide open at f2.8, it's about average for an f2.8 slightly wide lens.

Mike Gammill
Here's one that is probably around f5.6 or so. Less the optimum sharpness, at least to my eye. I know with image size limitations it may be difficult to see.

Bill Bowes
Hello everyone. I've been a bit busy with the homestead the last few weeks..no on-the-road camera brakes so here's one from the archives to compliment Tony's "walks like a bird" theme. Enjoy, Bill

donald_miller5
Just always liked how this came out. Embarrassed to say this but not being able to afford many filters I purchased some colored children's sunglasses at the dollar store and shaped them to fit lens. Used a Signet 50.

jon_shumpert2
I don't have photos from a classic to share today, but I do have a couple of classics I got this week. The first is an XD-11 I got from a friend. I have a couple of posts about it and the mirror issues I am having with it. I dropped off some film for processing that I shot with it and will wait to see how the photos turn out. Other than the mirror issue and leatherette shrinkage, it seems to look and work fine.

jon_shumpert2
The next camera is one I picked up at a local goodwill yesterday. I currently have a roll of Ektar 100 in it and hope to finish it tomorrow. The camera and lens seem to work perfectly. I guess I will find out in a few days.
