AJHingel
Philae went to sleep at 0.36 GMT and might not wake up again ! Before then Esa managed to get the detailed results from the analysis of a sample of the comet after drilling the ground. Final act was to move Philae a few centimeters to give it more light for charging its batteries. Esa's hope is, that it wakes up again when the Comet gets nearer to the sun the next months - before burning up due to the increasing heat.
Tim, I don't think that littering the space with gadgets or waste is good for anything else then feeding journalists on earth in search of something to write about, which is less scientific. A picture of a doughnut on the surface of a comet would surely be Breaking News around the world, but it is certain not to advance at any time our knowledge of space.
MichaelChang
It's interesting to observe that in those pictures, there are highlights, then there are blacks; there is no surrounding landscapes to reflect light into shadows and I imagine no amount of long exposure is going to extract anything from those black areas.

Space is true black body.
