megan_stone
I've been printing with no problems on my Epson 3800.
I'm now attempting to print an image for a client as i always do and the colors are quite off, it looks very bizarre, as if it's been painted on the paper. Ink is quite heavy and there is a red/magenta tint. I've tried everything and nothing seems to be working. What could have possibly gone wrong? I always print in this same process.
many thanks
Matt Laur
Are you dealing with an image file that's in a different color space, or did you accidentally tell your print driver that the application you're printing from (and not the print driver) will be handling the color management?
megan_stone
How do I check the color space? All as I always have it as far as I can see. At printing I allow photoshop to manage colors
William Kahn
Megan, check your printer's dialog page and make sure that the 3880's color management has been turned off.
fred_strobel1
I have had weird prints when I forget to set color management off on the printer after changing paper type and using light room to print.
digitaldog
Verify that everything is properly setup by bypassing that file and printing a color reference image of known, quality RGB values (http://www.digitaldog.net/files/2014PrinterTestFileFlat.tif.zip)
If that prints fine, it’s the file. Archive that print for future reference if you have to print again. If it doesn’t print correctly, it’s a profile, driver or setting issue (it isn’t the RGB values in the data going to the printer).
Author “Color Management for Photographers" & "Photoshop CC Color Management" (pluralsight.com)
howard_m
I saw that last night out of PS-CC in the print dialog. It had shifted back to 'Printer Controls Color' w/o me noticing :( Similar 'interesting' colors
steven_clark
Stupid answers worth checking anyway: Double check that you are printing on the right side. Double check that you didn't just print on a "support sheet" or something. Do a nozzle check and count your inks to be sure you aren't missing a whole plugged bank.
