western_isles
There is a discussion on the forum re this question but the answer is not immediately apparent.

So, is the petal lens hood on the Bronica SQ 40mm lens detachable?

The reason for the question is that I use the Lee filter system and the lens would not be much use if the petal lens hood does not detach.

I have emailed the dealer with the same question but would prefer an unbiased answer from photographers on the forum.

All replies from users of this lens would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

david_smith35
Are you talking about the S or PS version? My 40mm PS lens came with a detachable rubber lens hood.
western_isles
The lens that I am looking at is an S. harveysteeves
wouldn't be the first time someone took a dremel tool to a fixed lens hood. If the price was right, it might be worth it.
brian_schall
Yes, the 40mm S has a fixed lens hood. It does not come off. For years I used my with a Cokin P filter; looped a rubber band around the lens body, the Cokin P would fit just inside the petal hood with the corners on the outside of the hood and loop the rubber band over 2 opposite corners to hold it in place. Worked like a charm and never had a problem with the arrangement.
