Bill C1664885404
Well, 'best' is a relative term of course...but I happen to use the NEX-7 and can tell you my experiences.
First, I took the advice from a dedicated NEX forum if using any heavy lenses on the smaller NEX line of bodies, it would be best to use a "Tripod" style Adapter so the weight is balanced between the body & lens.

So I tried a "Fotodiox" tripod adapter, found them to be weak, poorly designed, failure prone, so I put out some money and bought the highly recommended FD / NEX Tripod Adapter by CIECIO7...solid as a rock and I've never looked back...great peace of mind knowing it won't dump my lens on the concrete like happened to a couple guys using the Fotodiox brand...holds my FDn 400mm/4.5 lens all day no problems.

Link and photos below:
http://en.foto-akcesoria.com.pl/index.php/shop/product?idproduct=278&productname=canon-fd-fl-nex

Bill C1664885404
Additional info...a couple suggestions I found useful / helpful:

1) Bookmark this link to Sony's Support website:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=NEX7

2) Click open the subheading MANUALS, WARRANTY, etc...
At a minimum, suggest you download the first item in the lists (top left) called the HANDBOOK (PDF file).

I downloaded it, dropped it onto a CD, took it to a local printing place (Kinkos) and had them print the entire handbook off on 8.5x11 sheets, 3 hole punched paper, and put it in a 3 ring notebook.

While it may not be perfect, among other things, it has in it all the various Camera "MENUs" listing / explaining each item on each menu, and the Factory Default setting of each item if you change something then don't remember what it originally was...you can make notes to yourself on the full size pages, etc.
pmind
I'm using the Novoflex adapter on the NEX-7. Good quality, but a bit pricy. They also have a tripod collar available...at extra cost.
