paul_c8
My ni-cd battery has come to an end in my 1v and I'm currently using AA batteries but would like to get another Ni-Cd without paying the world for one, I shoot a lot of surfing so the 10fps can be a blessing sometimes or 7 for some other stuff.
Can you get old batteries re-packed ? or has anyone got experience with after market ones and if so can they point me in the right direction ? They are very few places here in Australia can look if any.
mark_stephan2
On the Nikon forum several members have recelled their old battery packs with excellent results. You might want to post a question on that forum.
ed_avis2
I think the Power Drive Booster for the 1V uses the same batteries as the 1D / 1Ds / 1D Mark II / 1Ds Mark II. These are plentiful on ebay, probably even in Australia.
jamie_robertson2
I believe you can buy new Chinese ones on eBay/Amazon. The batteries are supposed to be good but the outer case construction is poor. However, many users have successfully swapped the case parts over from their worn out Canon batteries - supposed to be easy to do. I have the Canon 1D2 and should really do the same because the batteries are about past it. By the way, the new ones are either Ni-Mh or Lithium Ion and are far superior to the old Ni-Cd ones.
mendel_leisk
I replaced Canon batteries with third-party once. They were fine at the outset, but their abilitity to hold charge deteriorated quite quickly, within a year. Went back to Canon next time. You may have luck, but hard to tell.
paul_c8
Sorry about the title i tried to change it but couldn't i did mean ni-mh but had ni-cd in my mind for some reason. I did have a look at trying to take the case apart with no luck I'm surprised there not a website or youtube clip showing it with a canon as they are a very popular camera. I wish someone or canon would also update the software so it could be used on a Mac.
jamie_robertson2
Buy aftermarket NP-E3 batteries and swap the end caps from your old NP-E2 batteries.
