My ni-cd battery has come to an end in my 1v and I'm currently using AA batteries but would like to get another Ni-Cd without paying the world for one, I shoot a lot of surfing so the 10fps can be a blessing sometimes or 7 for some other stuff.
Can you get old batteries re-packed ? or has anyone got experience with after market ones and if so can they point me in the right direction ? They are very few places here in Australia can look if any.

I believe you can buy new Chinese ones on eBay/Amazon. The batteries are supposed to be good but the outer case construction is poor. However, many users have successfully swapped the case parts over from their worn out Canon batteries - supposed to be easy to do. I have the Canon 1D2 and should really do the same because the batteries are about past it. By the way, the new ones are either Ni-Mh or Lithium Ion and are far superior to the old Ni-Cd ones.

Sorry about the title i tried to change it but couldn't i did mean ni-mh but had ni-cd in my mind for some reason. I did have a look at trying to take the case apart with no luck I'm surprised there not a website or youtube clip showing it with a canon as they are a very popular camera. I wish someone or canon would also update the software so it could be used on a Mac.
