paulferesten
I have a Nikon F3 and was wondering if I can use the focusing screens from my old Nikon F. They seem to fit but I'm wondering if there will be any focus issues.

Thanks for any help with this.

david_carroll4
The F screen fits fine into the F3 - my only concern would be extracting the screen again - the F screens don't have the lip on the rear edge for extracting them. The F and F3 screens look similar enough that I doubt if there would be a focusing problem, and since all the F3 metering is done in the mirror box, metering with the F screen wouldn't be a problem.
david_carroll4
Just tried it - getting the F screen into and out of the F3 is no problem.

keirst
Test to make sure focus is accurate. I tried an F4 screen in my F3HP many years ago and the screen mismatch caused the focus to be way off. The lens to focused too close compared to what it should have done.
