sheryl_bury_michals
I have a power point slide show that I would like to upload to a website for viewing only and not downloading. reason being that I would make the slide show available on DVD as a fundraiser for our rugby team.
since some of our guys can't be at our 40th anniversary event this weekend, if I could at least upload the file (about 500 MB - it's 40 years' worth of photos) for strictly viewing, that would be great.
this is new for me, so any sage words of wisdom is appreciated.
Sheryl
dave_redmann
Pretty much anything you post so that it can be viewed over the Internet, somebody can copy / capture from the Internet. In many cases there are things you can do to make it more difficult, but you can't really protect content that well. Now if you announce at the outset that you are selling copies of it as a fundraiser, and any substantial number of group members nevertheless pull it off the Internet instead of buying it, then the main thing to be concerned with is not with Internet data security, but (IMO) the ethics of the group.
MichaelChang
Sheryl, one option is to make a short representative video slide show and upload it to YouTube, maybe something a couple of minutes long, and let your audience know the availability of the DVD for fund raising purposes.
sgust
I agree with Michael, a low res video version of the slide show would give people an idea of what's going to be on the DVD. It could actually work as a sort of advertisement.
