kumpf
I take mostly photos for clients who do outdoor living type home improvements (deck, patios, porches) and often need to shoot from a high angle.

I purchased a 6.5' Telesteps ladder because of its portability (it collapses and fits in the back of my car)

I started using clamps on the top rung to hold the camera, but this proved unusable as the clamps would not always hold tight.

I ended up drilling a hole in the top rung, installing a long 1/4-20 screw and mounted a pistol grip to it, which works perfectly for me now.

I used a long screw to leave room beneath the pistol grip for maneuvering.
