My family walked over Golden Gate Bridge around sunset time. I darkened the shadow on purpose to show the lines.

#2 1/4 Span

<a title="1/4 SPAN by hin_man, on Flickr" href=" 1/4 SPAN src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3716/10537496535_7b80b86d25_b.jpg" alt="1/4 SPAN" width="1024" height="680" />

Was visiting AT&T ballpark for a science fair earlier today. Saw this unique statue of baseball hall of fame Juan Marichal who was the pitcher of Giants and Red Sox in the 70 and he was famous for his high kick in pitching. We were lucky to walk by the draw bridge that raised up for a boat to go through and I got my chance to shoot into the very flaring scene half blocking by the draw bridge. Some exaggeration on color were done on purpose in post processing to show the beautiful flare. I wish I know how to bring it out more.

A note to forum members that I use my traveling camera with Sony nex 5n sometime more than my K-5 these days for traveling light with kids' activities and hence all pictures are taken with non-Pentax gear. I do use my Pentax lenses and SuperTakumar series with 28,35,50,105 and 135 quite a bit with my nex but not in the above photos.

This angle only show partially the typical high kick in Juan Marichal's pitching. I look up the image search for Juan Marichal and the statue was the exact model on his typical pitching. Amazing baseball hall of fame

#4 Baseball Hall Of Fame Juan Marichal

<a title="Juan Marichal by hin_man, on Flickr" href=" Juan Marichal src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3798/10638279594_02c6a503fd_b.jpg" alt="Juan Marichal" width="1024" height="680" />

We had more snow Tuesday night which made Wednesday morning pretty. Without much time before work I just went to this nearby pond. That duck just dropped in as I was about to take the shot.

Hin-I really appreciate your dynamic creative range; one nevre knows what direction you'll go next.
Yury-it's an interesting effect, especially on the first shot. Sometimes the 'wrong' settings make interesting images.
Anirban- Great images, I especially like the family shot.
Markus-congratulations on the lenses. I used to own the 100mm FA lens. It's a beautiful optic, if not a bit on the heavy side.
Matt Love the images and especially young Dr Who, but where's his Tardis?
Bob nice landscapes there.
Dave-best wishes to your Dad and my sympathies on new dent that is going to go into your wallet with the future college expenses! ;)

I just have one image here. We are still trying to decide on a replacement computer for our Sony laptop that got the 'Blue Screen of Death'. I've been working off my tablet or work computer; the former takes a lot of time for me to get through all the menus and the later lacks software to do even basic photo editing.
Still have some nice color in the trees. I got up early and went down to the local lake in Indianapolis (Eagle Creek). No Eagles today, just a few well-behaved Great Blue Herons.

last sunday was the hindustani Diwali. On its eve we went to a communal gathering : like a huge party with music & dance & food :

Last week we had a severe storm in the Netherlands, with lots of trees being blown down. Since I have a woodstove I nearly killed myself getting all this free fuel in. here's a picture of day 1 out of 4

last but not least I must express my appreciaton for Hin Man's bridge and Matt Burt's winter pond. And Dave Hollander is a lucky man. Of which, I'm sure, he's well aware.

Thanks for the nice comments! I was pretty happy with that sunrise at the pond shot myself!
And Douglas, it's in the shop! :) We have a big poster of it in his bedroom but we wanted to shoot outside.
.
Hin, nice color and composition with the bridge shot! Interesting image.
Yury, that first shot is interesting to me. I like the child in the distance. Mysterious.
Anirban, both very nice but I love the kids!
Markus, that apple cake makes me hungry!
Dave, a beautiful family and congratulations!
Bob, that is some great vibrant looking foliage. Plus I love reflections!
Nick, I like the red chair. Good color contrast.
Guus, I like the sheep although it does look like it had some work done.

Hin, I have to say your series is really nice and also have to say I grew up in the baseball era of Juan Marichal and saw him pitch on t.v. and your images do depict his form. Getting old or older, but that was when baseball was baseball. The Red Sox this year were refreshing though. But the 1950's to 1970's was a great era in baseball when fans or should I say ballplayers could both relate financially unlike the $100 to $200 million year players of today.

@Bob, Matt and Guus, thank you so much for your kind comments. It means a lot to me. I am a new fan of baseball and I am so glad there is a statue to remember the unique pitching of Juan Marichal. And here is a little fan dressed in pretty red -- I luckily caught it the beautiful moment when her mom was taking a picture of her in a cell phone

The red sox is indeed refreshing in both regular and postseason and I have great respect for the team especially David Ortiz.
