alain_chiu
Hi all, I have just purchased a 15xxxxx summicron on eBay. The front element looks too nice to be true but it does have a blue coating. Is that normal? I remember seeing other crons that has a yellowish coating. Thanks guys! SCL
Leitz used a variety of coatings over the years, as well as different glass types. The reflected colors of the coatings can vary, I've had them in colors ranging from clear to yellowish to light magenta and a very light blue.
Robin Smith
I had a blue coated one, nothing unusual: I think the later ones were blue.
Robin Smith
02Pete
Perhaps someone gave it a blue pill so that it would stay rigid and not become a collapsible Summicron. Since it's an older lens, that might be normal. (Sorry for posting what one might call a blue joke.)
