Robin,

Thanks, The menu options and access is quite different that Pentax. I flip through those like I made them. this is a little more involved but I have noticed that with other camera's I have tried in the stores. there seems to be a lot of scrolling and little ups and down's that simply arent there with Pentax or its just that I am more comfortable with the layout of Pentax...

anyway, the Camera is really really nice. nice weight fast shooting and Holy Cow! what crisp vivid shots it takes in iAuto. regardless of my slow learning with the menu options, I did get this to shoot in auto mostly so its getting a major wow from me on that end.

I do find the body just a hair too small for my comfort. it certainly feels well built but a little short. I think I am going to go to the E-P3...I like the size difference and the button layout looks more like what I would be comfortable with.

the PL5 is no bigger that the PL3 and I am not dropping that much coin on the P5 when I just wanted a point and shoot with a big sensor...lol

if I was going to spend that much I would just get the K30. that would be next year. The P3 is under 350 and I will get another k01 and be happy. I did really like that one.

:)

The "L" in the PEN model stands for "light" and the "M" for "Mini". With either of these lines one gets reduced number of controls (e.g. no thumb dial). Whereas the E-P1/2/3/etc have nicer ergonomics. That said I am totally happy with an E-PL2 once configured. It works fluidly fine in full auto, aperture-priority, or with older manual lenses.

All these cameras will seem small after a DSLR, even compared with the relatively small Pentax DSLR range. That is one of their main benefits, IMO. But of course different cameras suit different people, which is why we have so many of them!

But of course different cameras suit different people, which is why we have so many of them!
Too many!

lol

Side by Side the PL2 is much bigger and has the hand grip.

http://camerasize.com/compare/#196,157

I like the weight of the PL3 but it feels as if I may drop it at any moment. Picture quality is really nice so far in auto.

maybe I just have to get used to its size which is not "totally" a problem

but this one is a little bigger
http://camerasize.com/compare/#196,155

Thanks Robin
