How does one go about creating copy right for his photos

<p>Photos are copyrighted at the time they are taken. The copyright belongs to the photographer unless there is an agreement stating otherwise or it's done as work for hire. If you are asking about copyright registration, you can do that online through the US Copyright Office, assuming you are in the US (it helps to say where you are.) <p>Based on Alex's previous thread about publishing a photo book of Ground Zero photos, I suspect he's in the US.<br>

Alex, just follow the instructions on the site Jeff points to and you'll be good. It becomes effective immediately upon you sending them in (by mail or electronically), you don't have to wait till the gov't processes the application.<br>

<p>Jeff and Charles again thank you for your input. Based on your previous suggestions is why i am doing this. The Museum emailed me today and are certainly interested in making the photos part of the collection. </p>
