keith_bogut
It seems that when I open a forum page on photo.net, the pages opens at the bottom rather than the top. This seems strange. Is it the site? or did I manage to tweak some weird setting in IE?
CharlesBecker-Toronto
Keith-go to your workspace then over to the account options on the right hand side of the page; the 2nd to last option allows you to view posts either by the date of thread creation (which is what you want) or by last post. regards, cb :-)
keith_bogut
I clicked "date of thread creation" then "Update" then logged out and back in, but it still takes me to the last post.
CharlesBecker-Toronto
interesting; I went back and tried to change the way my posts load from date of creation to last post and it didn't work either.
you might want to try contacting photo.net via the 'contact us' link at the bottom of the page. cb
Matt Laur
Keith: Are you talking about the order in which the messages appear, or are you talking about your web browser "scrolling" to the bottom of the page? If so, which operating system and which web browser (and which version) are you using?
philrichardson
Keith please answer Matt's questions, but this question has come up several times recently. I had the same problem and was able to fix it by greying out the compatibility view icon on top in IE9. Apparently it doesn't always work. See this link for one of the previous discussions.
http://www.photo.net/site-help-forum/00aSS4?start=0
keith_bogut
I'm talking about the browser (IE 8 in my case) scrolling to the bottom of the page. I'm using Windows 7.
Matt Laur
First, update to the current version of IE.

Second, try it in compatibility mode to see if it handles things better.
keith_bogut
I upgraded to IE9 and that seems to have fixed the problem (and I don't know wht compatibility mode is). Still, I've been using IE8 for years both at home and work because of compatibility problems with some software, and I've never had a problem with the browser scrolling to the bottom of a forum page before. So although upgrading may have solved it, I don't think IE8 caused it.
Anyway, thanks to all for your help.
