And here I already though mannequins were creepy: new models from an Italian company have a camera in one eye that spies on shoppers.<br>

As <a href="http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-11-19/bionic-mannequins-spy-on-shoppers-to-boost-luxury-sales">Bloomberg reports</a>, “Store mannequins are meant to catch your eye. Soon you may catch theirs.”<br>

The EyeSee is sold by Italian mannequin maker <strong><a href="http://www.almax-italy.com/it-IT/ProgettiSpeciali/EyeSeeMannequin.aspx">Almax SpA</a></strong>. It’s more than a dummy: the software analytics recognize faces, ages, gender, and more about everyone who wanders in front of the mannequin. Yes, many ceiling-mounted security cameras do that already — but the EyeSee is at eye level, and customers look directly at it.<br>

<p>Good idea, but it will make them cost a bunch more and may need to be plugged in or have really good batteries. Probably wouldn't work in the bathing suit section. So little clothing on the mannequin , the camera eye may be more obvious.</p>
