James T: How did you load three images in one post?
A week of inclement weather (wind driven drizzle) kept me indoors - experimented with focus stacking for greater DoF - this one used 7 shots stacked with CS5. 5D2 / EF 100mm macro IS; 6s at f/32, ISO 400.

Bill/Rick/Robin: fantastic shots! That canoes photo is such a good start with a new camera, it would be tempting never to take another ...

*sigh* I'll just go on dreaming of some asking about a picture ... ;-)
I'm no expert, but I use one of two ways:
1. Click the image button, paste URL of photo; click "Insert"; hit Return; repeat (obviously you need to run another tab in your browser to enable you to collect multiple URLs).
2. Or use the HTML facility (useful for enabling a click through to Flickr, say): right click on a picture and select "Inspect element" to get the general idea. You can put in as many pictures as you like that way.

Rob Bernhard - great that you recognized it! Yes, it is indeed the Mines of Spain in Dubuque Iowa, and it was my first visit there too. We were headed to the Dubuque aquarium and I decided to try and find this "Mines of Spain" we have seen on signs for many years. The day was warm and the trails muddy and the wife complained endlessly about how we were not prepared for hiking and our shoes would be ruined. But I wanted to have a look, so we hiked. What a great vista that old quarry is. We intend to return for a full, proper hike - preferably when it's NOT 3 degrees F. like it is right now, and with proper hiking attire.

Snowy Owls have come down to Washington State once again in search of food, and they often congregate in a very large field on the coast. When the sun is shining, they can survey their surroundings through squinted eyes, and it's only when they are about to fly do they open their eyes in a more photogenic manner, as this one did.

00bHBg-515831584.jpg.ad189dbee60db1bdeaa795d5c794fe5a.jpg
