enrique_flores
Hello:
A few months ago I asked for advice regarding a vacation/photography trip to the State of Washington. A lot of people responded and I collected very interesting tips. I really appreciated their help.
The time has come. Next Monday, my wife and I will fly into Seattle to spend a couple of weeks in the area, visiting North Cascades, Lake Chelan, Mt. Rainier, (possibly Mt St. Helens, too) and the Olympic Peninsula. I did a lot of research. I prepared my itinerary. I downloaded a couple of nice apps with info on the parks, etc. Hotel and car reservations have been made. My equipment is ready.
I will report on this trip once I am back home.
Enrique Flores
SCL
Be safe, with all the fires out there; and have a lot of fun. It is my favorite part of the US. Share lots of photos!
David_Cavan
Looking forward to the results, Enrique. Have fun. We will be out there for a week in September on the Olympic Peninsula, so I know the anticipation.
Dave Cavan https://davecavanphotographics.com/
philrichardson
Ahhh... spent the first 22 years of my life in Washington. Beautiful countryside. Perfect choice for a vacation if you like the mountains and the outdoors. Maybe you will run into the great landscape and wildlife photographer, Art Wolfe, who is headquartered in Seattle :-)

joshroot
Most people I know call it the Aurora Ave. Bridge. But yes, there is a troll under it.

frank_b._baiamonte
The Fremont Troll, which is under the north end of the Aurora Bridge, is definitely worth a stop. If you get lucky and have a foggy night, that is the best time. Here's a rather mediocre picture, taken on a very hot bright day in the middle of a record-setting heat wave. The VW under his hand is real. To find it just head for the Fremont neighborhood, and look for the little street that runs under the very high bridge. There are a lot of other fun things to see in Fremont, it's worth an hour or two of walking around.

Not too far from there are the Locks, and the Fish Ladder. That's over in Ballard, sort of west of Fremont. Very nice in the late afternoon, or any time of day really. I don't remember for sure, but I think this might be the time of year when there are a lot of salmon in the fish ladder. Kind of fun to watch, and then once you've seen enough that you're getting hungry, it's not too far across the Ballard Bridge to Chinook's Restaurant at the Fisherman's Terminal.

Have a great time.
enrique_flores
Thank you, Frank. I had already googled "George Washington Bridge Seattle" and red about the troll but it's nice to have a photo. Thanks for the tip on the salmon and the restaurant, too.
