michael_elenko
On a whim I tested an earlier version of this device. I kept it for about a half hour. This is not a scanner but just a cheap digital camera that is shooting off a mirror aimed at the illuminated image of your slide or negative with that box.

If you need quickly obtained low-quality records of your old negatives or slides, then I suppose this thing has value. If you have hopes for outputting prints or seeing accurate details, then you'll have to purchase a legitimate scanner and not this.

ME
will_delaughter
Just to put what Michael said into perspective...

I have a Minolta Dimage 5400 that scans at 5400 dpi. This comes out to be approximately a 40 MP image which is high enough resolution to resolve the actual grain of most films. My Digital SLR cannot come close to that, much less a cheap 8 MP camera in a box (Wolverine).
