mark_a11664881497
Was given a Minolta SRT 101b with a 50mm f2 MC Rokkor lens. Camera is in excellent condition and the meter bang on (tested against a Gossen Digi Pro F). Consequently, I've popped in a roll of Kodak Elite Chrome and am looking forward to the results. Also picked up a Contax 139 Quartz + Tamron Adaptall + Tamron 35 - 70 BBAR MC CF Macro for the princely sum of £7.50 off the bay. Camera was said not to be working (a battery change sorted that) and has all its bits intact save for the leather, which needs changing and some brassing which looks good. Currently giving it a good clean. Have been inspired by JDM von Weinberg's post in 2010 about his Contax 139Q and have asked a friend who off to Japan tomorrw (back in 10 days) to get me some new leather from Aki-Asahi. Once recovered will give it a final once over and try it with some Tri X. Am also now looking for a Contax 50 mm f1.7 lens to marry up to the camera.
Have you acquired anything lately?
starvy
Hi Mark,
Mine is a Zeiss Ikonta 6x9 folder from 1954 perhaps. It has a 4.5 Novar lens and am on the last frame of shooting a roll of Velvia 100.

JDMvW
As I've said elsewhere, my immediate acquisitions have been two Nikon N2020 and a Nikon N8008s with a 35-80mm AF-D lens (posts in Modern Film Cameras). I also bought some new toys for my Canon EOS digital setup, so have been doing lots of work with those.
I do have a backlog of older Classic Manual Cameras, though. However, they all need a little work to bring them into usable order. The first is an early Praktiflex lens, a 58mm Biotar, this one in M40 Praktiflex mount (that's not a typo). Lens is dirty and has some cleaning marks, so we shall see. The other is an almost working Bolsey B2.
john_robison3
GAS can be a real addiction.

Most recent would be the camera show in April. Came away with a Sears KS-500 (re-badged Ricoh KR-5) with a it's original 50mm f2 Auto Sears lens. Everything functioning normally including the meter and it even came with the batteries! Price? $5 but I did have to replace the light seal foam.
Fujica ST605n body, very clean and fully functional for $20. Again I had to replace the seals and this one did not include the meter batteries, two MS76 which I had handy anyway. I got the Fujica because, about 2 or 3 years ago I had bought a 50mm f1.4 and 135mm f3.5 Super Takumar's because they were so cheap, $35 for both, but I didn't have a M42 mount body to use them on.

Now I promised the missus to be good for the next year and only get film when I need it, mostly from Freestyle.

A little before the camera show I found a near perfect Canon QL17 GIII at a secondhand store for $15 because "no one can make it work". They had it set to auto with no battery! Didn't have a battery with me to check it's meter but it worked on manual just fine so I took a chance and bought it. Got it home, popped in a #675 zinc-air battery and it worked perfectly on auto. It too needs replacement light seals but I just haven't got around to that yet.

I can stop any time I want to, really I can.
Matthew Currie
It's not really a classic so much as a modern film camera, but I went tag saling today and found a worn looking and slightly malfunctioning Nikon FM10 with its kit 35-70 zoom for three dollars. I took it home, figuring the cheap but useable zoom might be worth that much. I took the bottom off, and found that a screw on the bottom of the wind lever mechanism had fallen out. The screw landed on the table, so I put it back together, and have a functional FM-10 kit now for about the cost of the batteries, which were still fine.
yog_sothoth
I picked up a Taxona square format 35mm camera on my recent trip to Germany. My test roll of Tmax 400 is currently rinsing, and I will have photos of the camera and by the camera on the board tomorrow. The Taxona is very cute, and is smaller than an Olympus RC and only slightly larger than an Olympus XA.

subbarayan_prasanna
My "new" acquisition arrived just now from Ukraine. The Zorki 1 with a retractable Industar 22 f/3.5 lens. I am in a Post-Op condition after a cataract surgery and IOL. Recovering well and fast. So I will do the CLA slowly step by step. The camera is very stiff and the shutter does not move, yet. All parts are intact. So, I hope to have a decent functional one by the end of the month. sp.

craigd
My most recent camera acquisitions are a Minolta SR-1 that looks like the one in Les' picture above (top of the pyramid), and a Nikon F3HP with a Nikkor 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 zoom lens (my first Nikon zoom). I've also picked up a few vintage Minolta lenses, including an MC 58mm f/1.4, an MC 28mm f/2, and an MD 50mm f/1.2. Posts about some of these will be forthcoming once I have images scanned.
wmervine
Still awaiting it's arrival, but just got a Nikkormat FT 3 on auction. Now to start hunting lenses. At least my D300 will also benefit from the glass.

Before that was a Nice Zeiss Ikon Contaflex 2 in it's original box. Sadly the shutter needs attention, but there's something special about the feel of that body.
howardstanbury
I'm not sure which side of the classic-modern divide the XE-1 is, but I finally got one (in black too) with an early non-MC-coupled 58mm f/1.4 Rokkor-PF lens a few weeks ago. I reckon the lens puts it firmly on the classic side, so here it is:

<a title="Minolta XE-1 by FlickrDelusions, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8007/7602737390_5eae7df1e4_z.jpg" alt="Minolta XE-1" width="640" height="429" />

dan_fromm2
My latest acquisition was a lens, not a camera. My big weakness is lenses.

45/9 CZJ Goerz Dagor in barrel. 1934 design, one of a batch of 25 made in 1937; one example was made earlier. Perhaps my rarest lens. Longer f/9 CZJ Goerz Dagors are somewhat more common. It will go to the machinist real soon now to have an adapter for stuffing it into the front of a #1 shutter made.

Prior to that, an ancient Ries Model C Tri-Lok tripod. Beautiful, now I know why people who have Ries tripods insist they're the best. I think I've mentioned it here already.

The three lenses before that were an 85/6.8 Beryl, a 200/2.0 S.F.O.M (covers 4x5), and a 60/14 Perigraphe. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have bought the 200. All bought two years ago. My kit is more-or-less complete so its hard to justify getting another lens, no matter what it is.
Matthew Currie
Note to L. Mar. I have one of those old 85/1.8' s also AI-ed. I love it. Great lens to carry around.
mark_stephan2
Since joining this forum I've developed a bad case of GAS. In the past month I picked up a nice chrome Nikkormat FTn and non ai 50 f/2 with rubber focus ring. That was followed by a F body and eyelevel finder. Next was a Nikon N6000 and lastly a Minolta SRT202 and 50 f/1.7 MD lens. The Nikkormat and N6000 are currently loaded with film, hope to post some pictures in the near future.
dave_g1
I picked up this Edixa Prismaflex - not that I need another one - but it had the original Steinheil Cassaron lens, and unusual Universa branding.

Suffered from the typical Edixa lazy shutter, but after a little cleaning and exercise seems to be firing reliably. The worst part is that the prism has deteriorated some, causing a slightly hazing viewfinder image.
The lens was dirty, but cleaned up nicely, so I can't wait to try it out.
