I found an *ist DS near me for a good price and picked it up. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there does seem to be a little something to the pictures that I have been missing since I went from a k100 to a k20, call it CCD colors or what you will.

00aIj4-460015584.JPG.5d450ee5159e68dc180e765c3c96dfe7.JPG

Some more black and white. These were from a few days ago in St. Paul, MN. Specifically (for you locals) a block or two west of the St. Paul Cathedral between Selby and Summit Ave's. Summit Ave. is known for it's stately mid-1800's to early-1900's mansions, the surrounding neighborhood a mix of modest-to-upper middle class (for the time) housing. Most are in very good condition, a few could use a bit of help. K-5 and DA 15mm Limited. Edited in ACR and Nik Silver Efex Pro.

Wow, lots of beautiful stuff for me to wake up to today!

I've been shooting with my E-PL1 and Zuiko 14-42 all week, so I don't have anything Pentaxian to post... but next week I'll probably start playing with the K-mount adapter again, and perhaps try my compact Ricoh 50/1.7. We're part of the Ricoh family now, so that counts, right? :-)

Nice photos everyone! Henk #2, Duane #2 and Nick #2 and outstanding... I haven't been able to scratch my photo itch much lately but here is one from last nights walk in the neighborhood.. Almost had a nice shot of two Doberman pinchers barking at my wife and I, but it came out blurry (because they scrared the crap out of me)

00aIkQ-460037584.JPG.2bbecb500e939615dfd4bb7c9262d186.JPG

Great stuff this week! Icebergs and the snake especially.
I would be taking photos right now of climbing a 14,000 Ft. peak and skiing it but I got hit with the crud this weekend and have been laying low instead. Glad I didn't try to push through, realizing I was really sick on a mountain top would not be a good realization!
But I got the camera out quite a bit this week for a couple of paid gigs as well as on my own.
This one is of a windy rough day hiking around the lake. I smoothed out the water by using a 10 stop ND filter to slow the shutter.
Then that storm approaching in the first shot caught up with us back home
Last is one I shot while I was doing a job to get some "arial" photos of the local college campus from a nearby mountain top. The campus photos were stitched together and will be used to make a campus map/directory.

Nice to see you back, Duane! Those icebergs are really impressive.
Doug's snake and Howard's profile also struck me as particularly nice as well as Steve T's cityscapes.

Here are some incidental shots. The first two, taken with the A 20/2.8

trying to get the last of my spring wildflower shots, since its snowing and going to freeze tonight today was probably my last chance, when going over my photos noticed that several were soft and misty looking, my guess is that I fogged the lens by putting on the lens cap between shots that I had been keeping in my pocket, anyhow I liked the soft look on this ladies slipper shot

00aIts-460249584.jpg.852455f827c9920a4b71193e9ac8a536.jpg
