<p>Dave H., I'm very surprised that they allow the girls to play lacrosse without much protection. It's the same at home too, just some eyegear. The boys are dressed like gladiators.<br>

<p>I have to admit to some concern about the sparse protection in girls lacrosse, Michael, but the rules are much more civilized than the boys game--and strictly enforced. Still, there have been a couple of head-clunking & face-scraping incidents this season. <br>

The boys wear a lot more protective gear these days than we did when I played: all we had then was a helmet (with face guard) and a pair of padded gloves but that was back in the in the "wooden sticks/iron men" era. </p>
