<p>The flowers are finally coming out here with temperatures getting in the 70s. I'm still figuring out how to use extension tubes with the lenses I have.<br>

<p>I've really got to edit my files the day before so I'm not so late posting them.</p>

<p>This is a Diamorpha plant. It only grows on granite outcrops like this one on Arabia Mountain near Atlanta. (Arabia Mtn is similar to Stone Mountain in case you've been there -- it's just a whole lot more pristine.) In a couple weeks, I hope to post a shot with the bloomed flower.</p>

<p>This was taken handheld at about 0.4x life size with a 7D and 100mm L IS Macro. Ain't technology great? 1/80s, f/11, ISO 400. IS, Autoexposure Bracketing & AI Servo Focus on. Next time I'll do it properly with a tripod. ;-)</p><div>00a99V-450577584.jpg.acdcdf994246b8189054a0f17f371146.jpg</div>
