mark_mitchell5
Actually got the chance to get out & around town this past weekend. Ran into a number of festivals and found this young lady with her harp. Hope you enjoy it.

richvanwart
Hello, Nikonistas! Great bird shots from so many this week. Very nice Egrets from Paula and Jeff, and great Great Blues from Sebastian, and Dan's startling Road Runner, who appears to be searching for more desert habitat! I'm posting some less exotic feathered friends, but they're pretty in their Impressionistic spring palette.

CoryAmmerman
Here's a shot of a flower, taken on an overcast day a couple of weeks ago. This is not the picture that I had intended on uploading tonight, but the one I wanted to share somehow didn't make it on to the flash drive I brought to work with me. :-(

r1a2d3ok
Three days in a row this eagle would land on this chimney to watch for fish in the lake behind the house. While he sat there two to three birds would bombard him constantly. Was alot of fun to watch. bms
Happy Wednesdy!

Matt, looks like fun..... but point the camera at 'sensible adults'? Naw..... but this shoot was one big party

Here is little Jack misappropriating some lighting equipment (maybe that's why the background was not lit so well?)

jeannean_.
Seems this thread has gone to the birds! Mine is from this past weekend at our local Vida Verde festival. Jonothan Woods and his Birds of Prey were there to educate people about their hunting skills, as well as their efforts to exist in today's world. Some aren't as successful as others, like this American Bald Eagle. It was hit by a car while descending on a rabbit. It's wing is permanently damaged so can't fly. We don't have them this far south, so it is always a treat to see one. (Thank you Michael Carter and Chris Wick for your comments on the B-25 last week. :) (D7000/Sigma 150@1/80, f/7.1, ISO 400)

krisheylen
Happy Wednesday y'all!!

Last monday we celebrated Sant Jordi (San Jorge, Saint George), Catalonia's patron. Traditionally, a rose is given to the woman you love. The legend says that a red rose grew from the blood of the dragon that Saint George killed to rescue the princess.

Men are gifted a book, as the day coincides with the worldwide literature day. All the streets in Catalonia are filled that day with colourful stands selling books and roses.

D90 with Tamron 17-50 f/2.8, SB-600 and SB-80DX.
<a title="Rosa de Sant Jordi por Girona_Flashman, en Flickr" href=" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8024/6960761912_61f080c16b_z.jpg" alt="Rosa de Sant Jordi" width="425" height="640" />

georg_s1
Hi there,
here's a picture of a young man doing ridiculous things just for me/my camera/the newspaper.
This young soccer-player will leave his hometown for a well-known soccer-club.
I've shot this to illustrate a story about his possible career.
Small Softbox with SB-800 (manual at about 1/8 or 1/16) to add a bit of spice, I was laying on the grass and a fellow soccer-player throw a few balls.
It was fun for all involved.

wayne_wrights
My image this week is of me showing off my new "aluminum" print at a local gallery. The image of me was taken with Nikon D300 with Nikon 18-70mm lens. ISO 200 f11 @ 1/2 second, using the self timer. The print was taken with a Nikon D200 with 18-70 mm lens. The D200 was converted by Lifepixels to B&W IR.
