evan_howe
Hello!
Apologize if this is a duplicate, I'm new to the forum and couldn't find anything similar after a quick search.
I recently picked up a 500c/m in great condition. I've run a couple of rolls through, and noticed a problem after processing. On 2 of the 4 rolls, the spacing between frames has been larger, causing the final frames to be damaged during processing (hanging from clips while drying).
Roll 1) Kodak Portra 160 - 1/4 - 1/3 in. gaps between frames (DAMAGED)
Roll 2) Kodak 400tx - 1/8 - 1/4 in. gaps
Roll 3) Kodak Ektar 100 - 1/4 in. and under
Roll 4) Ilford HP5 PLUS - 1/4 - 1/3 in. gaps (DAMAGED)
I originally thought that there may be a difference in spindle sizes based on the brand of film, which could cause this? Based on what I read it sounds like it may also just need servicing.
Do any of you have any thoughts? Would prefer not to service unless I have to- its my only 120 back. Thanks!
russ_britt3
How much space do you have at the beginning of the roll. If you did not start the roll wrong, the back needs service.
vick_ko
If it is your only back, buy this kit and fix it yourself:

http://home.earthlink.net/~blackbird711/HasselbladRepairManuals.html
erie_patsellis
Or...... you could search and probably find the official Hasselblad repair manual pdf's.

Either way, the nylon stopper needs replacing, and the back could probably use a good CLA. Unless you've done a few, it's a job best left to people that know what they're doing.
leicaglow
Are you winding the film to the arrow, or Start mark, and doing so accurately? The arrow on the insert's spool flap, with the red arrow, is aligned with the film's Start mark?
