Split image screen 500d

<p>Hey,<br>

Just wondered if anyone has used one of the split image screens for the 500d? I'm starting to use my old manual focus lenses, and a split image would really help with the focusing.</p>

<p>I had a split image focusing screen in my 300D and while it made manual focus easier, it was pretty useless on slower lenses (zooms at f/5.6 end) and in dim light. It was just too dark to see when focus was achieved.</p>

<p>I didn't install one on my subsequent two camera bodies.</p>

<p>You might want to look at <a href="http://www.katzeyeoptics.com/">http://www.katzeyeoptics.com/</a>. I have seen positive comments about them in the past. I haven't had experience with the company you found or Katzeye but I have installed a split image screeen on my 5D (from a different manufacture) and it does help with manual focusing.</p>
