KenPapai
The wine crush and initial wine making are now in full swing in Napa Valley this week. Harvest is a few weeks late due to the cool summer.

EOS 7D @ 16mm, ISO 400, f/5.6 inside Paraduxx's production facility -- I'll be back here in a couple days for their big Harvest Party.

katzpjs
The Seattle Art Museum (SAM) has recently changed its policies, and now allows photography of the artworks inside most of its galleries. I took this photograph at the museum last weekend in one of the public areas that has always been open to photography, but I did use my camera inside the galleries too. Thank you SAM!

danferrin
Lupo, I share your sentiments. Everything I have done professionally for the past 27 years has been heavily influenced by Steve Jobs, including digital photography. May he indeed Rest in Peace. Last night, before I heard the sad news, I was at my favorite wetlands looking for herons, which didn't work out. Instead, this guy flew up and landed in front of me. I should have done a bit of on location editing with the weed in the left bottom corner, but I didn't want to startle him away. Perhaps when I get a bit of time, I will do a bit of work in Photoshop (an app we may well never have had, if not for Steve Jobs and the Macintosh) to that corner.

Andrew Gosden
Some really nice shots so far.
These little mushrooms seem to only appear when the light is low. I had trouble getting the kit lens to focus in the low light - next time I'll try using a flashlight for focus assist.

Canon xsi, 18-55 is kit lens @ 51mm, f/9, 1/80s, iso 200, off camera flash

Laura Weishaupt
It's hard to imagine a world without the contributions of Steve Jobs. I wondered how many people were using Apple products this morning. There was a lot of indoor activity due to rain. I teach a class in food preservation and did some things with garlic. I roasted up a few pounds, pureed, and then dehydrated the paste. It tastes pretty good, and seemed worthy of camera work. I shot a series playing with all sorts of ideas. This is one of the more abstract. I put others in a gallery.

sethdubois
There's a statue in town of a large, polished rock so that it looks almost like a mirror. I thought it would be neat to use the reflection to capture a couple shots, but it turned out to be more difficult than expected - especially getting the subjects in focus. This was one turn out, I would've really like it if I could get the dogs head in the shot. He was having fun stopping every 20ft on his walk and rolling around, much to his owners dismay.
Canon 40D w/ 17-85mm.

Margo_Wade11664880111
It's springtime in Australia and the flame robins have romance on their minds. Took this pic with a 100-400mm L series lens on a Canon 7d. It's a heavy lens and I've taken a while to learn how to hold it steady enough for successful handheld shots. Reasonably happy with this one, though.

bob-c
As usual, a lot of nice stuff here. I used my new tripod and gimbel head to shoot today's freshmen football game. A lot of sports this week. Tomorrow varsity soccer, Saturday varsity football and Sunday, my son runs in a marathon.

Even though the softbox was pretty big (6 feet in diameter) it still wasn't large enough to fill the frame. So I had to use Photoshop to paint the corners white and clone stamp beads in where the weren't visible (in those areas). I also converted the photo to black & white.
