gus_gus1
Hi. I got a Hasselblad 500 c/m. I was told that I could convert that camera to digital by buying a digital back for it. Is that true? I am not into digital at this point but am thinking of getting into it. I am very hesitant to go into digital, I'm not a electronic type. Also I would have to start from scratch which I dont think I can afford. So I am just checking out my options. Thanks for any info.
leighb
Hasselblad makes the CFV-39 and CFV-50 digital backs (39 and 50 megapixels, respectively) for the 500C/M and its brethren. You can download a product brochure from the Hasselblad website www.hasselblad.com

I have a CFV-39 and it works beautifully.

Hasselblad also provides a very good computer program to work with it, called Phocus, for free.

- Leigh
howard_m
given the huge cost of a digital back (something like that simply must 'make' money for you vs. being a pure cost), you'd probably be better off simply shooting film which you seem to be more comfy w/ and then scanning the better images.
leicaglow
I think the 39mp back starts at around $14k, but it's been a while since I've priced them.

peter_roberts4
You may try less expensive option at the beginning by buying used dgital back. There are many in used market with brands like Leaf and PhaseOne. To settle down with a 16MB or 22MB will cost much less that current models.
