This is from Phillipe's a landmark eatery around the corner from "Chinatown" in downtown Los Angeles.

chrasmussen
Foto-Borgen, a small fotoshop from Aarhus, Denmark, now restored in The Old Town (a city-museum) as it looked like back in 1974 - with old cameras and stuff and all the commercials for products, which hardly showed the actual product itself but more ofte beautiful women with lots of bare skin.

jerry_lehrer1
Emir,

OMG! Those pictures of the XK-SS Jaguar brought tears to my eyes. In late 1956, John Bentley and I each ordered an Xk-SS from the factory, using his connections. His in silver with black leather, and mine in silver with red leather. The factory had a fire in January 1957 and our cars were destroyed.
We had the money transferred to AC where we bought 2 AC-Bristols which we raced in 1957.
That Jag would have been impractical as a road car in the US, but I would have done it.

Jerry Lehrer

chrasmussen
Ray, Foto-Borgen is just an original facade with a display from 1974 - nothing is sold there anymore.
My holidays just started yesterday, and so did the july-rain in Denmark :-( but when the sun shines through again, I will go there and get some more close-ups of the equipement. And the posters :-)
And perhaps also some images from the adjoining and recreated Pouls Radio, a Hi-Fi shop where I shopped as a young man, now filled with Tandberg, Grundig, AKAI and of course Bang and Olufsen gear from 1974 - they have my old and dearly missed BeoMaster 901 (the oak one) on display in there (not mine actually, but it could have been). Ah, memorable days ...
And btw, here is a link for the curious - should any of you ever come to Aarhus, this would be number one to visit : www.dengamleby.dk/eng/den-gamle-by
