schopke
Just in case any of you are interested, Keith Canham has offically posted on his web site that the 617 back is done and available for sale. Very curious design. Check it out at the link below. Sorry but I do not know HTML programming. http://www.canhamcameras.com/Roll%20film%20back%20index.html I have put my order in and should have my back with three days. dick roadnight cotswolds
I have had my name down for one for a while, with Robert White. You cannot do anything with it that you cannot do with a 57 camera and a pair of scissors ...except save the cost and hassle of sheet film. I hope and expect that the motorwind ensures good film flatness. Has anybody got any tips on attaching one to a Sinar? Would electrician's tape do the job? ellis_vener_photography
Dick, I 'll be testing with a Sinar soon and will let you know, it should be pretty straightforward.
dick roadnight cotswolds
Ellis: Thank you: I think it should not be difficult, the only important detail is to make sure that the film is the same distance from the lens as the ground glass! I look forward to your comments, as, I am sure, do hundreds of other members. Do not tell the moderator, but 617 is Medium format, or at least a Medium format adaptor for a large format camera. Doesn't matter - you'll see there is a category for 6x9 cameras - just consdier this a stretch 6x9... :-)
