lester_wareham Posted June 12, 2011 Share Posted June 12, 2011 I have the 28/1.8 and found it very good, central sharpness is high and AF is superb, unlike Yakim mycopy is well controlled for flare. This is based on SRF and controlled flare testing as well as real world use. The corners are indeed less sharp and CA is high, but the CA is easy to correct for, DPP does this for you at click of the mouse also. Of course expecting a lens at f1.8 to be as sharp as one at f2.8 is probably unrealistic, but is more likely to be be obtained with the 24L or 35L but at a price. Finanaly if the intended use is low light action stoping then corner sharpness is probably not a big deal for most compositions. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
