garrison_k.
I've been wondering this for a awhile. Curious why, that when I open D3x files in the latest ACR, I do not get the chance to interpolate up like I can with my other raw files? Meaning, with other raw files we usually get the native resolution and then a choice to go up or down in size. But the D3x I can only interpolate down from 6048x4032? Thanks.
ellis_vener_photography
I never noticed that but you are right. I will ask people in the know at Adobe.

pete_s.
Probably the 10000 pixel maximum image dimension that prevents you from interpolating up.
Photoshop has something similar maybe Lightroom too.

I've run into this limit in Photoshop trying to make a 300 dpi 36"x24" file. Newer versions might have fixed it.
michael_bradtke
Pete
At least in CS2/3/4/5 if you allow Photoshop to resample the image it is no problem.
Its odd about ACR and the D3X. I will be interested to hear what Ellis finds out.
Michael
ellis_vener_photography
I finally got a response back from one of my friends on the ACR/ Lightroom team at Adobe: "I think this was intentional (the logic seems to top out at around ~6000 pixels on the long side)."
