drew bedo
I got ahold of a "dead" Sinar Six with the casset, probe and meter. A new battery "fixed" the meter. Sadly, the interchangible dials are missing.

I need to find a set of dials. I am willing to consider a "parts" meter . . . .if it comes with the dials.

leicaglow
Just for fun, have you tried asking Sinar whether they have parts? They have very good customer service.
drew bedo
Michael :

Thanks. Thats a great idea . . . I just assumed that since this system is several generations old they would not support it any more. I will give that a try.
leicaglow
I can't speak to Sinar, but I'm surprised at the help various companies have given me for expired products. They either have the part laying around and send it to me, or they will recommend a source for parts. It's worth a shot. I love Sinar/Broncolor's support in the US.
rodeo_joe1
I used a Sinar-six at photographic college many years ago, when they were "the latest thing", but I don't remember using any interchangeable plastic dials with it. As far as I remember it was just a modified Gossen Lunarsix with the CdS cell stuck on the end of a plastic wand to stick down the back of the camera. Using it entailed applying most of the guesswork of using a spotmeter, except it was supposed to take account of bellows extension, etc. I much preferred (and still do) a simple incident reading and a bit of calculation for the bellows extension, besides the Sinarsix was no good for measuring flash lighting at all. I also seem to remember that it needed some cosine correction for readings taken away from the centre of the frame.
drew bedo
While I have never worked with this system, I have looked around and here is an example of what i think is needed. Note the several dials that seem to be interchangable. The cassette on the right is for a 5x7 camera I think.
