Scanning Fuji 800 Film

<p>I have used Fuji 800 film to take night photos. When I scan using my Nikon scanner and Vuescan archival settings, I get very noisy scans almost regardless of settings. However, 4 x6 prints of the negatives look very nice. Any advice would be much appreciated.</p>

<p>If you mean X-tra 800, the film is intolerant of under-exposure. In my last roll there was a frame of a man's head and shoulders and a dark (in shadow) background. I had taken an incident light reading. In the print the face was fine but the dark portions were blotchy. It is my guess that the same thing is happening in your scans. Fujicolor 800Z is markedly better and well worth the higher cost.</p>
