larry_isaacs
Have been using it without problems though recently Photoshop a/o Bridge might shut down while working. Would be able to restart the programs w/o difficulty. Today photoshop won't even open up. As the program starts to initialize I get the message: "Photoshop has stopped working" I've rebooted my laptop and deleted the preferences. I have a new Toshiba laptop with windows 7 and IE8.
Any suggesstions. Thanks
Larry
ann_clancy6
I had some issues with cs3 and went to the control panel as uninstalled/repair and it went through some "song and dance" and returned to normal.
William Kahn
Ann's solution is the best place to start. I also have a new Toshiba laptop running Windows 7 32-bit, and have had no problems with CS3. If your Windows 7 version is 64-bit, that may be a problem...
RobertChura
Try holding the alt shift and ctrl key while starting PS. It resets PS to default values. I just had to do that myself!
larry_isaacs
Thanks to all. I did try the shift-alt-ctrl trick but it did not work. Will look into the other two suggestions.
Any other thoughts about this out there?
Thanks
Larry
JDMvW
If nothing else works, try reinstalling PS. Sometimes little 'invisible files' get lost or damaged on Windows, at least on the older Windows versions I used to use (note past tense).
paulie_smith1
Had similar problems and the folks at Adobe say "BUY CS5".
I fought it awhile, reloading a few times on the new machine. Finally bit the bullet and bought CS5 and it works fine. Wish I had not had to do it but with the newer operating system you are stuck upgrading if you want it working without the slowdowns/shutdowns from time to time. Then one day it won't work at all and you lose what you have done.
