<p>You may need to install CS5 first, then LR for it to “see” CS5 instead of CS3 as the <em>default</em> app. You can of course make an external editor preset and force the issue. But I suspect you want the key command and menu to properly default to CS5. The order of install has been an issue here, if you install LR 3 prior to CS5 when an older version of CS was available, LR doesn’t find the newer version of Photoshop and use it as a default. Reinstalling fixes this issue. </p>

<p>The order of the updating is the issue in many cases. Say you have LR2 and CS3 and you decide you want to upgrade to LR3 and CS5. If you upgrade LR first, it doesn’t “know” about the CS5 upgrade. Many users who do this find that LR doesn’t detect CS5 even after updating to that version. The fix is to update (reinstall) CS5, then update (reinstall LR3). </p>
