marco_de_biasi
Finally I bought the Opteka extension tube for my 7D. Attaching the tubes (all of them or just 1 or 2) is not an issue, as well as mount the lens. But then I'm completely lost! everything is simply out of focus. I may be doing definitely something wrong, but I cannot figure it out.

JDMvW
Yes, that happens to a lot of people the first time around. It's hard to grasp in the abstract how close you need to be.

You can get more working distance with a longer focal length lens. If these tubes don't have electric connections, you may find that older completely manual lenses such as M42, Nikon, etc. lenses with an inexpensive adapter are actually easier to use than the EOS lenses. There are even adapters with M39 threads so that you can use the excellent-for-macro enlarger or short telephoto (made for bellows or tubes) lenses which have nice flat fields. Such lenses are found for cheap prices on eBay.
