Ooops. Try again, correct 700 pixel size this time:
Not getting much shooting done lately. On a recent foggy morning, I grabbed the camera, but the fog had already started to lift by the time I took this shot of the Stow House - a U.S. historical landmark in Goleta, California; it was once the headquarters of Rancho La Patera, on the original Rancho La Goleta. Built in 1873, Stow House is a rambling two story house and is the oldest frame house in the Goleta Valley. HDR processed in Photomatix.

Great contributions so far - I really enjoy the Wednesday Pic threads...
Sen's lion is my favorite so far...

00X95F-272733584.jpg.bf3acc67de80c05e18975dae4cdcca10.jpg

Ok, I confess, it was taken on a Thursday.

Sail Amsterdam fireworks last Thursday night. Hand held from a moving vessel, but I was very pleasantly surprised by what the D700 was capable off.

Great work as always. It's always a great pleasure to see your efforts. Very inspirational, and a great lesson too.

This is for all you Baseball fans. I took this in Miami at a Cubs Marlins game. We drove down to the game for my sons 16th birthday. They stopped me at the gate and said my lens was too long and couldn't bring it in. So I left and gave the lens to my son and he put it in his cargo pants pocket and went in ahead of me. They didn't check him and I went in with just the body and they let me go. We will miss Lou Pinella. Nikon D200, Nikon 80-400 vr, 400mm, f5.6, ss1/1250, ISO 200

00X98J-272797584.jpg.5d76578e67ec1e5da7fe68c14a57c90d.jpg

i'm visiting waynesboro, va., for a few days. yesterday was a wash -- the weather service may have described the rain as "moderate" but that wasn't my take on it. nevertheless i did walk around the block a bit, and saw these HUGE sunflowers in the parking lot of an ice cream shop. very impressive.

00X995-272807584.JPG.a6264ea2e4e5fc38da224a39f878f5d1.JPG

This was one of those occasions that I wish I had a lot of time with. We met this guy and his wife who were traveling cross country, from Lexington, KY to Butte, California in a Mule powered Covered wagon.
He is on the road coming to stay the weekend on my property. It was getting dark real fast and I had to get this photo quickly so I guess it is more of an interest photo than a real good one. Because of the darkness I needed to enhance this to get some decent detail.
If anyone would like to read about him and his travels I will give a link below.
There is a great story about this endeavor and a link to more pictures.
