1.
The first thing I would do is check on the internet for reviews about the travel agent, specifically referring to the payment.

 2.
Did you set auto-ISO at a high shutter speed?

 3.
What body will you use it on? FX, DX? resolution?

 4.
I was in the Canadian Rockies in 2009 and had the privilege to visit the Tsuu t'ina Nation Powwow. Even though this is a not tourist event, I would suggest to inform at some of the Canadian First Nations if any of their wonderful traditional events can be visited.

 5.

as long as you don't mind getting stuck @ f1.4

Isn't what it is for Shun? Stopping down is such a waste of light.....

 6.
There is a new 105 AFS 1.4. I am pretty sure it will be a nice tool on the F100 (IMHO) the most sexy camera body ever made.

 7.

A lens for the filthy rich or an untreated Nikon gear acquisition addiction.

I disagree. Even though I will not be able to afford it, or make sacrifice elsewhere, I believe this lens caters for a specific need for Pro's. The people that will use this, will probably see this as an investment, not a toy.

 8.
Not being sarcastic, but did you put a roll of film in the camera before you decided to examine the inside of the camera?

 9.
Sweden is beautiful and very much worth the trip. One advice, bring plenty of insect repellant.....

 10.
I would save up for a MacBook or MacBook pro. I have been and am still using windows machines at the office, but prefer the more streamlined Mac approach and value for money.

 11.
Sienna, Lucca, San Vincenzo, Montepulciano.... I would not stay for more than one day in Florence, unless it street photography you're after. No car means limiting yourself to mostly Florence. Don't forget to get navigation too, as is in the countryside many smaller roads do not carry street names.

 12.
Avoid it like the plague, the same goes for Berlin and Barcelona. I believe these places are worse than Detroit. Even Dr. Claw wouldn't go there.........

 13.
The part that's missing is the camera....

 14. I use a 24-70 on my D700. Not a featherweight but what a lens. I believe it is perfect for travel photography.
 15.
Helder,
Are you using DX or FX bodies?

 16.
I can make no suggestion, but I would like to mention jealousy here. Lucky you!

 17.
350, low light performance and all in one zoom performance? Pick two....

 18.
What is the event like? I don't really see what your question is? Is to go with a group or the go alone? Only you can decide!
Groups are safer, but you have to adapt to their schedule.
I have no idea if Vietnam is a safe place nowadays. It was when I was there.

 19.
Shun is there a reason why you did not mention the highly superior Video2000?

 20.
I took a boat trip on the Mekong river in 1999, so I may not be the person with the most up to date info but I remember the beauty of the river. I was in Saigon/HCMC then, and could not go down the delta due to flooding, but traveling on a small boat was the way to go.

Have fun!

 21.
I think we should start gossiping about the D6. I wonder if they go back to film again?
