Star of screen...

Re-watching "Superman", I've just realised that Jimmy Olsen's camera in the office scene is a Praktica L series. Who would have thought that such a lowly camera would make it into the props cupboard of such a big budget film?
I've spotted a few other "Cheap" cameras in movies. "Sky Pilot and the World of Tomorrow" featured an Argus as a plot device and the Exacta was a central prop in "Rear Window" (although I'll grant that the Ihagee product probably wasn't that cheap in the 'fifties).
:-)))
Has anyone else spotted this economical trend in the film world?

The brands of things used be hidden in the days of Rear Window, but Exakta did use it in their advertising at the time. It's amazing in the days of Superman that there wasn't a "product placement". Maybe Canon and Nikon turned them down?
I'll have to hunt up Olsen's camera, being a Praktica person, that is. Thanks for the heads up. :)

00Wqpd-259361584.thumb.jpg.dcf18985e83c632d00c1a737d1cdd8c0.jpg
