How was this lit?

<p>Looks as if very diffused lighting, perhaps softboxes, one just to the left of the camera and another to the left of the subject.</p>

<p>I would recreate it with one large light source above and camera left as key, and another light source above and behind subject as hair light.</p>

<p>I'm with Steve. What lighting? I would say they have their main light at the level of the subject on her right not raised. Another light in the back to light the background, and a diffused hairlight on the subjects left, and raised a bit. As far as illuminating her left side I am not sure if they used a fourth kicker light on her left, or if they got the hairlight positioned just right so it fell down her left side as well. Be sure to let us know what the photographer responds back with so we can all keep learning.</p>

<p>I'm with John on beauty dish, possibly socked. I took a look at some of photographers other shots where I can see the catch light. Looks like fairly small, round light. </p>
