How do I sell digital downloads

<p>I'm thinking of trying to break into the group photo market. My workplace hosts camps on campus in the summer and I was hoping to do group/buddy shots with the mascot.<br>

I would like to be able to collect their email address and email them a link and allow them to buy a high res image of the prints they want. No printing, no CD, they go and print what they want.<br>

What software or sites would allow me to do this?</p>

<p>There are several out there. This is not an endorsement as I use neither of these but I have heard of smugmug and zenfolio that do exactly what you want. I think you have to pay a yearly subscription to utilize the ability to sell digital files though.</p>

<p>I use zenfolio for just that reason amoungst others.</p>

<p>They not only set up digital downloads; but you also have control over licensing AND resolution of the download. This way you also control the fees depending on res and license structure. You can also of course set up to partner with available labs to have the prints sent directly to the client. The latter pays a commission to the lab.</p>

<p>Lastly, you have the ability to approve all orders before fulfilling the order..Very cool in the age of image theft concerns.</p>

<p>I've found SmugMug's sales tools to be robust and pro-friendly. It's a useful proofing and sharing tool, but it's also fantastic to have unlimited offsite backup of all my images. </p>
