riz
I am looking for free website template for my photography site. I just need a simple layout i.e. menus on the left (portfolio sub-sections preferably) and photograph on the remaining area.

Is there any free website template I can get or any free program using that I could create the web site.

I have just attached a sample page for better understanding.

Thanks in anticipation.

niki_cortesi

This is not the best layout for photography website. By placing menu on the left you are wasting lots of precious screen real estate. Much better option is to locate menu on the top.
The next and previous navigation option is also very limiting. You need some kind of random access (thumbnails).

photo_galleries
I'd recommend Jalbum. Just download the skin of your choice, and customize.
richard_barry5
Of course you could always try using Lightroom to build your galleries using Wordpress as the foundation for it. There are dozens and dozens of Lightroom galleries out there and many of them are pretty good.

Personally I thought paying out $60 or so US for my Photocrati site was money well spent. My new site has a few issues that I would like to change but because it's part of the Wordpress family of blogs, you get all the neat plugins and Widgets that are out there.
www.richardbarryphotography.com
I switched to Photocrati after first building my site in Lightroom using Turning Gate for the galleries. It can be done and it's usually done very well but I just found the TTG stuff too hard to match up with all the little nuances of Wordpress. It got to the point where I was spending more time focusing on the technical problems around the site than I was on photography.
So, in short... go free and Lightroom's a good place to start but if you have $50+ spare, get a site that's built by a company that specialise in a certain niche.
Good luck
