ridinhome
Just got my recently acquired Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic yesterday. I'm trying to figure out how old it is. I read that Pentax didn't use serial numbers but used batch numbers. For what it's worth, the number on the top plate is 1098357 and the ISO goes up to 1600 (read somewhere that early models only went to 800).
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Kayam

jim_eckberg
Don't you just love the internet? Gordon, thanks for the link. I've bookmarked it and I'm sure I'll visit often. A great site with detailed information for me to pour over. But it also reminded me that I should start shopping again for an example of a Pentax ES.
ridinhome
Thanks Gordon! Fascinating site! Have bookmarked it too. Unfortunately it doesn't tell me anything more precise than that mine is a post 1965 model, but its helpful nonetheless.
