Choosing a camcorder

I am planning to buy a camcorder ... how ever i am not sure if i

should go in for a Digital 8 or a mini DV. MY requirements r that it

should have good quality in respect of indoor shooting and also

should have a good zoom for nature/landscape shoot.

I am considering Sony DCR TRv 27 model or digital 8 340.

I am planning a trip to yellow stone national park.

kindly advice me on which type of camcorder is ideal for my use

thanx

Key elements to look for in a camera:

. Manual focus (Auto focus only works well in bold light situations, indoors may not be suitable)

. Manual White Balance (As indoor lights vary in temperature, some images may seem very yellow and others may seem blue. MWB helps the camera to use the correct colour settings)

. Manual Zoom (Auto zooms suck battery juice)

. Zoom Range (Don't get sucked in by alleged digital zooms, they make your picture all pixelated, look for a decent optical zoom instead)

. CCD Layout (The sensor chip that picks up the video signal, a single-CCD camera has the benefit of price and the ability to pick up low light situations whereas 3-CCD cameras offer substanitally greater colour definition but are usually 3x the price and beyond)
