havanai
Recently I bought a Pixco brand adapter in an attempt to use some of my old Minolta lenses on my Panasonic G1. I tried to use it today for the first time and it does not work. All the fittings seem good: the lens to adapter and adapter to camera. But when I turned the camera on the LCD showed the message "Please check that the lens is attached correctly". I've been taking pictures with SLR cameras for almost 40 years and I know how the lens mounts work. And, as I said, everything seemed to click into place properly. Does anyone have an suggestions or insight into this? Or good or bad experiences with Pixco adapters? Thanks.
User_1172872
I believe you will have to change a setting in the menu that will allow the camera to function without a lens attached. (Does the adpater have any electronics? If not, the camera doesn't "know" there's a lens.)
havanai
You're right. I should have thought of that. No electronics in the old Minolta lens nor the adapter. Haven't tried it yet, but I know there is a function you may select to shoot without lens. I believe that will work. I'll come back to this thread if it doesn't work. Thank you.

havanai
Is there any reason not to permanently leave the function "Shoot without Lens" in the ON status?
