Sigma 15-30 vs Canon 16-35

<p>I owned the Sigma, used it, sold it, then bought the Canon.</p>

<p>I am 100% certain under nearly all conditions (except 15mm) the Canon is the better lens. It's up to you though if you think it's $900 better. AF is better. Build is better. It's faster. It's a Canon L.</p>

<p>A friend of mine has the 15-30mm. I have the Canon 17-40. I can frequently guess correctly when one of his photos is taken with the 15-30 due to barrel distortion. I don't see any obviouse barrel distortion in the 17-40 and it is my understanding that the 16-35 is just as good (if not better) than the 17-40.</p>

<p>Canon 16-35L is better in my opinion... You get what you pay for. Faster Focusing, less flare, faster lens, better colour, better overall build. and more... as far as image quality, I think the 16-35 may be sharper and have better colour. The Sigma might be a tiny bit wider, but 16-35 is just fine. </p>
