rod_melotte
I take a lot of scenic's, interior, exterior photos and am doing pretty well. However it seems that I'm getting more and more requests for "lifestyle" portraits. I have a Nikon and the SB 600 flash. What other things would be handy! I'd like a diffuser - are there any that are better then others? How about an off camera light meter? Any other suggestions?
Thanks
leicaglow
A Chimera type diffuser disk (I carry around a 42", I think, that folds up to about 12" and has white, silver, and gold diffusers. If you don't use monolights, it is a huge help in delivering more light and being able to control your flash ratios. Certainly, when using a flash, a Sekonic flash meter, like the L-358, is a huge help in getting the exposure right when dealing with many light sources you might run into in an environmental lighting situation. An air cushioned light stand and clip for the diffuser disk is helpful, unless you have an assistant.
