This might be a stupid question about a Mac

<p>This might sound a little stupid, but does Apple's Aperture 2 editing program only work on Macs? Told you it would sound stupid :-)</p>

<p>The simple answer to your question is that Aperture only works on Apple's hardware/software. Besides not wanting to run a database program on hacked system, Aperture also has specific graphics card requirements. Lightroom would be the popular choice on a PC.</p>

<p>I would suggest trying both. Personally, I prefer Aperture by far (and I <em>have</em> both).</p>

<p>I use Aperture and love it, but yes, it will only work on a Mac. And those "hackintoshes", well, you take the risk of getting yourself a real headache. And the whole idea of a Mac is to get you past that "headache stage". Worked for me.<br>

I have used Lightroom numerous times, it never matched up to Aperture, but tastes vary.</p>

<p>Have both, prefer LR, but I like the book function in Aperture and it's pretty good program.</p>
