robert_edelman1
Recently posted on Digital Photography Review (dpreview.com) is the announcement of two new manual focus lenses from Cosina/Voigtlander with EOS mounts: Color Skopar 20 mm f3.5 SL II Aspherical and the Ultron 40 mm f2 SL II Aspherical pancake.
yog_sothoth
Yay, pancake lenses. Canon cameras needed those. The 20 3.5 may wind up on my list of silly things to buy. Now we just need EF-S pancakes that cost less, like the Nikon one.
rogerjporter
Some of our international friends might confirm this, when i was in Prague 3 years ago, one of the camera shops had Cosina zoom lenses in Canon and Nikon mounts, on the cheaper side, but there nonetheless. I wondered if anything more interesting would come of them. Voigtlander never ceases to amaze me, i hope they around forever.

bjscharp
I'm very curious about the 20mm. If it's anything close to the 17-40, it might be a good alternative for a light-weight/small size traveling kit, a slow ultra-wide prime has been missing from Canon's lineup for a while (The Canon EF 20/2.8 USM is said to have extreme vignetting even stopped down, and is only 100 grams lighter than the 17-40). For tripod work, F4 and MF aren't problems for me.
anders_carlsson
Great. We now only need a really small Canon EF-S 30/1.8 USM to be happy. Please?
Robin Smith
Great news. I am a fan of VC lenses and these seem worthwhile additions
Robin Smith

rogerjporter
I second the motion for a 30 1.8... doesn't need to be an L lens (since it should be geared towards crop sensor cameras), but a better build and quieter operation than the 35 f2.
