john pearson
What is a Kalimar lens? Does anyone have any information about Kalimar. It seems they are very cheap to buy, must be a reason. Would you recommend purchasing one?
Thank you. John P.

JTG1
John --

I can tell you from real experience as I own and use one (Kalimar f/4.5 80-200mm), and for a $9.00 lens, its not bad. Below are a few pictures from this lens and a Pentax K110D, I just took these over this past weekend, they are cropped at about 66% each. This is manual focus and push./pull zoom lens.

~Jack

1/400, f/8, ISO 400 - cropped for frame

1/320, f/7.1, ISO 200 - cropped for frame

1/320, f/7.1, ISO 200 - cropped for frame
